Montevideo....definitely the heart of Uruguay! and it is beating FAST! After hours and hours of farmland, it is almost like reaching an oasis....full of culture and life.

We went to the movies to watch a wonderful Uruguayan flick (El Bano del Papa), we went to the Jardin Botanico, we explored the historical center, we toured the congress, and even got to go to the hospital!!! Marcela can't keep from getting weird problems.... first a tooth ache, then allergies, and now a rash on her neck!! Well, both in Brazil and now here, our experiences with doctors have been great, and extremely cheap. And to add to that, you can always just stop at a pharmacy and talk to the highly experienced pharmacists and buy most of the medication over the counter.

This was our first time eating at McDonalds during this trip...It was the only different thing available other that chivito, milanesa, pizza, or raviolli.

That is pretty much our big city experience in Montevideo. We didn't participate much in their booming night life because the Uruguayans start their partying at 2 or 3 in the morning, and we are just too old for that. Before we close, we have to mention that we lost a sock and an underwear.... kind of a long story....remember to ask when we get back!!

Português:

Montevideo.... definitivamente o coração do Uruguai!

We took this picture inside of a casino in downtown Montevideo and got in trouble with the security guard.

We had some Patricia beer at one of Uruguays favorite pizza places called Il Mundo de La Pizza. Compared to Brazilian beer, this was actually pretty good!
