Lazy Saturday

So, last night we ended up staying outside chatting and drinking a few beers until 2am because 2 of the German girls were leaving. They decided to share there impressions of Bagamoyo with me (Dad you might want to stop reading). Apparently Bagamoyo, where I'll be spending the next few months, has its own unique "charm". They joked that even the Lonely Planet which encourages travel to Nairobi and the Congo warns you that you must be very careful in Bagamoyo. I know they're just exaggerating to joke with me but after seeing the hostels one of the girls decided not to spend the night and came back TYCS. I'm sure it's not as bad as they make it out to be... but only time will tell.
Today was another uneventful day although I was actually able to sleep in! As soon as all the hustle and bustle started at 5 I put my ear plugs in and rolled over. It was wonderful, I didn't wake again until nearly 9. After breakfast at which we were all very excited to see cornflakes, I decided it was time to do some laundry, it's been a while since I've had to wash by hand. I had a nice chat with a 1st year medical student at Muhimbili but unfortunately he had very similar things to say about Bagamoyo...
I randomly ran into Professor Premji and we have plans to meet on Monday to go to Bagamoyo and check out the project site! Yay! Finally I almost have a project.
