New Haven Baptist Church
From Ready to Travel Tennessee for Summer Missions in Dover, United States on Jul 25 '08
Hey again,
This church was absolutely wonderful. It is a small, but alive church. I really enjoyed spending time and helping this growing church.
On Sunday, we helped in their kids classes and then gave our testimonies from over the summer.
Monday, we went to a widow of the churches trailer and put ceilent on the top of her trailer and we washed her cars in the morning. Then after lunch we went and did a ministry opportunity at the Piggly Wiggly filling up window shield wiper fluid. It was a way to do something nice for the community and be able to share God's love and if the opportunity arose and they let us talk to them invite them to church.
Tuesday, we shoveled p-gravel from a huge pile and put it on their playground for the kids at the church. It was a lot of work, but the kids really loved their new playground so it made it worth it. That night we did a puppet/worship camp at the church for the kids. It went really well and we had a lot of fun singing, doing skits with the puppets, and letting the kids use the puppets. It was a lot of fun.
Wednesday, we were able to speak to the youth of the church about different issues including bible study, prayer, spiritual gifts, and so much more. It went great.
This church is small, but has a great heart and is growing fastly. I really miss all of them. Pray for this church as they are trying hard to reach their community. It was a great last assignment to the summer. I only wish that we could have stayed longer.
