Edelweiss Lodge and Resort
From Margaret & Bethany's Germany Trip in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany on Mar 20 '06
We drove into Garmisch. It was a neat town. I remembered that the Armed Forces Resort was down this way, so I was on the hunt to find it and see if they had any rooms available for the night. We first went up to the Tram for Zugspitze, but it was after 4 p.m. and the last train had already gone. One couple said that we definitely needed to spend a couple of hours up there, on a good day. We found Edelweiss Resort and they did in fact have a room. The place was beautiful and the snow as about 3 feet deep. I think Bethany enjoyed the snow the most. We played in the Snow a little bit and ate American food from the restaurant. The next day, we had the resort pull up the webcam for the top of Zugspitze (highest point in Germany) and it was cloudy and raining. She recommended that we not go because it would be waste of money. She indicated that we would not be able to see anything. We continued on our trip after a Wonderful stay at Edelweiss!
