Foz de Iguaçu to Curitiba

We woke up at 5:30a.m. to make it to our bus to Curitiba, Brasil. It took us a whopping 9 hours and 49 minutes to arrive and we were all exhausted! After showered, we headed to the “mall” where we had dinner, checked our email, and had some drinks at a local bar.

Curitiba, Brasil

We “slept in” (by our tour’s standard) and walked to the Botanical Garden of Curitiba. Brenda and I decided to venture off on our own. Our first stop was “Bosque Alemao” followed by Parque Tangueria. A 30 minute walk led us to the Opera House where Brenda enjoyed a chilled coffee. Our next stop was the Torre Panoramica (Brasil Telecom was plastered all over the place). We weren’t too impressed with the tower since these picture fiends weren’t able to get good shots of the city! We made our way back down rather quickly! Brenda and I would probably agree that the highlight of our day was making our way though the historic district of Curitiba. Everyone who worked at the shops was incredibly friendly and ready to indulge each of our questions.

At this point in the evening, our bus pass had expired so we ended up taking a taxi back to the mall (a reference point I was familiar with). We had dinner at the mall, yet again, checked our email, and made it back just in time to head to the bus station for our voyage to Paraty.
