A late return from Corsica led directly into an early departure for le Parc National du Mercantour in the near by Alpes.  I am happy that i packed my backpack before I left for Corsica, as I certainly didn't have enough sleep to think about what to take on a 3 day excursion.  In order to combat my worries of the city bus not getting me to school on time for the group departure at 8am, I took the more reliable bus that dropped me off at the bottom of the great hill that leads up to the school.  So I got to start my day of hiking very early while I trekked up the many stairs that lead up to the school.  Just a little warm up for the day.
