Visited with Ernst and Franziska and family. Went to the Appenzel Cheese factory, and saw cheese being made. Had a great movie about the region and the cheese as well as lots of educational info about the whole process. Appenzel folk band played in the background to get you in the mood to buy lots of Appenzel cheese. Our favourite was the Surchoix and the Extra (6 months to cure).

Gorgeous scenery on the way to the quaint old town centre of Appenzel. Everything dusted with snow. Appenzell is a beautiful old town with lots of painted houses. Had a great time with dinner, wine, coffee and schnaps. The kids had lots of fun playing together and Olivia got started on some cross stitching.
