Ararat lookout
From Victorian Easter Roadtrip in Ararat, Australia on Mar 20 '08
Ararat is only 50kms away from Halls Gap so having left at 6am this morning, I didn't think it would be worth while getting into a tourist town so early.
On the way out of town I noticed a sign for Lookout 10km. Sounds like fun. Driving up the hill in the dark I spotted a lot of kangaroos on either side of the road hopping away and some other small animals too. The view of the stars from there was pretty good considering town was on one side. Even though it was a full moon also, the moon had gone to bed. I spotted Saggitarius (the constilation of Saggitarius can is only seen in the Southern Hemisphere during the mornings at this time of year and during the evenings during winter) and it occurred to me that it's been a long time since I've seen it.
At the lookout there was a sedan parked there with it's sun shades on the windscreen. What a good idea I thought. I will employ that when I sleep next time. It gives the car the appearance of unoccupancy.
