Ah here we are... paradise... apparently ! maybe not..

So we get off the port and grab a cab to Hat Chaweng. We've done our research in Lonely Planet and listed a few places to stay..but the prices mustve changed from the publication - everywhere we dragged ourselves too (with our heavy backpacks and sun beating on us) they were either full or farrr too much money here - everyone seems to be after just what they can get ! So.. we keep walking for what seems like hrs trying out guest houses... finally get ourselves into one North Chaweng...and my word this is basic ! no hot running water , no bedsheets..and the worst of all ...many unpaying guests with us. Dan was showering as soon as we got there ..suddenly comes running out there (boys keep your minds from wandering).. there is THE biggest ugliest dirtiest spider we have ever seen - and remember we stayed in the jungle ! We run to get someone to catch it - he jst whacks it down with a makeshift broom - runs about in our room - and thankfully he then kills it ! I reckon it fought back at first ! Other guests were hiding in my treats - had a small box of smarties - went to take a handful - but oh no the ants decided toget there first - swarming with them ! in our bed and everything...we're now praying things dont get worse. Clean out our room and decide to just hit the beach to get away from it all. Burn within the first 3 hrs - nice.

this morning we went to have breakfast..apparently one of the other  guests was telling his night adventures - wakes up during the night to find a thai woman in his room (and he hadnt paid for this one) - he'd locked up and everything.. so me and Dan have now placed our backpacks, 2 heavy wooden chairs and my rape alarm over the handle and in front of the door , knife by the bed..god help anyone who crosses us.

And thats it for now..
