Die letzte Millionenstadt in Australien, die ich noch nicht kannte. Schon vom Hoerensagen klang Perth sehr nett, ist es auch.

Zuerst haben wir uns von der 177 km langen Reise ausgeruht. :-) Wir werden einige Tage im "Perth International Tourist Park", etwa 12 km von der Innenstadt, verbringen.

Am Montag haben wir uns erst einmal 'Fremantle' oder "Freo" wie man hier sagt angesehen. Das ist die Hafenstadt von Perth mit etwa 7.600 Einwohnern. Den Wagen haben wir etwas ausserhalb der Innenstadt stehen lassen und sind mit dem Gratisbus durch die Gegend gefahren. Zuerst sind wir durch die Shops der Innenstadt und dann zum "Fremantle Market". Dort gibt es alles zu kaufen; von Obst und Gemuese ueber Klamotten uns Souvenirs.

Ich habe mir dann mein erstes australisches Souvenir gekauft, ein Didgeridoo und auch gleich nach Hause schicken lassen. Der Tag endete mit einem Besuch im Maritim Museum und Johno hat noch mal im Motor Museum reingeschaut. Abend haben wir uns dann im Campingplatz Pool erfrischt.

Am Dienstag haben wir erst mal den Wohnwagen checken lassen, da weiter noerdlich nicht besonders viele Staedte sind. Mittags kamen wir dann in Perth an, wir haben den Bus genommen und sind erstmal zum Kings Park und botanischen Garten und dann zum bummeln in die Innenstadt. Ein kurzer Blick ins Museum und dann sind wir zufaellig Tobi in die Arme gelaufen, wir wussten er war hier. Wir haben ein paar Bierchen gezischt und der Tag war auch schon wieder zuende.

Am Mittwoch sind wir in die Weinregion 'Swan Valley'. Wir sind eigentlich nur etwas durch die Gegend gefahren und wollten Halt in der 'Duckstein Brauerei" zum Mittagessen machen, die hatte aber leider geschlossen. Gleich nebenan war aber 'Elmars' dort gab es trationelle sueddeutsche Kueche und ich habe nach 1,5 Jahren mal wieder eine ordentliche Bratwurst verspeist. Weiter gings in die 'Perth Hills' (Huegel von Perth), dort haben wir Gary, einen Freund von Johno besucht. Bevor wir zurueck fuheren haben wir noch den 'Zig Zag Scenic Drive' gemacht und haben uns fuer den Abend fertig gemacht. Wir waren mit Gary und seiner Freundin Bridget zum Abendessen im 'Kalamunda Hotel' verabredet. Das wars auch schon von Perth.

The last city with more than a million people which I don't know. Everyone says Perth is nice and it is.

First we relxed from out long 177km journey. ;-) We will stay a few days in the "Perth International Tourist Park". This park is about 12 km from the city centre.

On monday we went to Fremantle, Perth's port town. It has a population of about 7,600. The local people call it "Freo". We left the car at a car park just outside from the city centre and took the free bus for the day. First we had a look at the shops in the city centre and then we went to the "Fremantle Market". There you can buy everything from fruit and vegies to clothing and souvenirs.

I bought my first australian souvenir, a Didgeridoo and I sent it straight home. Later we went to the Maritime Museum and Johno had a look in the Motor Museum. Tonight we jumped in the pool in the caravan park.

On Tuesday we checked the van because in the north there are not many towns. At lunchtime we arrived Perth with the bus and walked in the Kings Parks and botanic garden before we went to the city centre for window shopping. We had a short look in the Museum and then we had some beers with Tobi. We bumped into him before. We know we was in Perth.

On wednesday we drove to 'Swan Valley' a famous wine area. We just drove through before we wanted to go to the german 'Duckstein Brewery' for lunch. Unfortunately it was closed but next to it was 'Elmars' where you get also good traditional south german meals. So I had a very nice german saugage (Bratwurst) after 1,5 years. After that we went to 'Perth Hills' where we visit Johno's mate Gary. Before we went back to our caravan park we've done the 'Zig Zag scenic drive'. Back in the caravan park We got ready for tea with Gary and his girlfriend Bridget in the 'Kalamunda Hotel'. ...and that was all from Perth.
