Well if yesterday was a day to celebrate then today was even more special!

Today D had reached what is referred to as a milestone birthday. Modesty prevents me from broadcasting his age for this day but I am given to understand that he is in the category of a child from the baby boomer years?

16 humans and 2 dogs set off in 2 taxis to take us all there..

Anyway whatever age and birthdays are I think he looks jolly good and is still capable of walking us into a state of dog tiredness.

It was a day for presents for him…….M and the parents had had a special picture done for him…something called a caricature. It featured him with his car and telescope and all things birdwatching related and Angus and myself featured in it as well. D loved it. M & M had given him some lovely framed pictures and a special newspaper from the date of his birth. Mum’s friend C had decided to buy him things with a Spanish theme….a huge sombrero hat, maracas, castanets and a fiendish toy bull called El Torro.

It kept chasing me across the floor so I retired to the safety of under the table to watch it and wait for my chance to try and attack it!

After this everyone went about their own business , D went out with N for a birdwatching trip to Caesares further up in the mountains and the rest of the humans spent time swimming in the big blue bath and lying in the sun or sitting in the shade. Angus and I searched for the shadiest spot and kept out the way.

At midday D & N returned and then everyone changed as we were all going out to lunch at a restaurant on the beach at CaboPino. Angus and I were going too as D said he wanted us there on his special day. So 16 humans and 2 dogs set off in 2 taxis to take us there.

The restaurant was nice and cool and we had a big table overlooking the beach. Not that Angus and I saw a lot of the sights of the beach…as once again we sat and watched the feet and legs go by!

It was a lovely time, there was balloons bought by the Costa Del Sol team and a lovely new shirt for D as a present. The children were able to go and play on the beach it was all rather jolly.Eveyone said the food was really good ...nothing on offer for 4 legged friends on this occassion apart from nice cool water.

We then went to another bar in the harbour ..Vincent's Corner...and spent another hour or so there. Angus and I resumed our normal positions although this time because we were on a balcony we got more than a view of feet and legs. This time we got full view and also of the big boats in the marina. Then before we knew it the taxis arrived and we all got back to the villa for another evening of watching the adults enjoy the evening sun go down and children swimming in the pool.
