It was the first time I've been back to New Orleans since Katrina, what an eye opener! The French Quarter was rockin' as usual but as soon as you ventured out the rest of the outlying areas are devastated. It was really upsetting to see how the Federal Government just abandoned the people of Louisiana! In many of the areas nothing has been done and it looked like the storm hit last week. Many of the large hotels downtown are empty and no plans for there return. Broken windows and damage can be seen everywhere. The people that are there are wonderful and deserve all the help we can give them with tourist dollars and Federal Aid! If we stopped the war in Iraq for 1 day we could rebuild the whole city, think about it!
