Wake this morning to a fantastic breakfast with great variety. Today we head off and leave Vienna and make our way through the lovely scenery to arrive in Salzburg. The home of Mozart and the Sound of Music.

When we arrive into Salzburg, Earl leads us to Mozart’s Plaza where a statue stands. The city is beautiful with colourful buildings and plenty narrow alleyways.

home of Mozart and the Sound of Music

We are given free time so Lyn and I find our way to Mozart’s home. It’s a   yellow building in the middle of the town. It’s busy with other travelers visiting this obvious main attraction in Salzburg. We also head towards the garden where the sound of music was filmed.

We have time to spare before the meeting time to head back onto the coach, so we decide on lunch at the restaurant (forgotten the name) but it was located just in front of the Mozart’s statue. It was nice and relaxing as other travelers joined us.

Soon enough it was back on the coach and onwards to our resting stop Innsbruck.

It was a very short stop in Salzburg but we appreciated the scenery we were able to see in that short visit. The town is filled with plenty cafes, restaurants, and stores.

The drive to Innsbruck is a nice scenic one and we stopped at some great cafes serving up great food. The service in Austria in based on the honesty system at particular rest stops. You head in and grab your food , sit down and eat it. When you are done eating, you call the waitress over and tell her what you just ate and pay for it. It’s not what I’m used to, where you order and pay first.
