The Monterey Bay Aquarium

Today we spent the day in Monterey and visited the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. I knew we'd enjoy it, but it was even better than I had ever imagined. It honestly doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's gigantic on the inside. Admission was $22 per person, and I'd even say it's been the best money we've spent on this trip.
Surprisingly my favorite display section was the Jellyfish area - can you believe that? (see previous Belize entries on jellyfish/Pica Pica if you don't understand why that's shocking). They had glowing, pulsating, floating jellyfish of every shape, color, and variety. I wish I could post video as well as pictures on this site because the pictures don't do them justice.

Brian's favorite fish was the Sunfish, or Mola Mola. The pictures we got also don't do it justice as it's the biggest most bizarre thing you can imagine.
They also have a penguin display (smelly), a sea otter display (so darn cute), a 2 story kelp forest, touch pools all over the place where you can stick your hands in and play with things, and countless other things to see and learn about.
If you are ever in Monterey, this is a must-do activity.
