Scusset Beach State Reservation - Sandwich, MA - Site 38

This is another state park in Sandwich at the entrance to the cape but it is on the north or east side of the Cape Cod Canal.  This is located on the bay at the far east side.  This is another popular park that you should make reservations for - it does have electrical hookups.  There are 95 sites for camping, a beach and some sites on the canal where you can bike, fish and watch the ships coming through.

The bike trail along the canal goes all the way up to Buzzards Bay.  Starting at the campground the paved trail for both walking and biking heads up a sloping hill but the ride back is mostly downhill which is nice.  This campground is very relaxing and has a popular fishing pier, breakwater and over 1.5 miles of frontage along the canal.

I don't think you need a fishing license since it is on COE land.  The Lions put on a breakfast Sunday mornings and a dinner Sat nights that anyone can buy tickets for.

Buzzards Bay has the Maritine Academy which is interesting to visit and some shops.  This is next to the busy round about for route 3 that heads to Boston and route 6 which heads over to Buzzards Bay and interstate 195 heading west towards RI and western MA.
