Everyone knows that Texas is the biggest and best at everything, right? Just turn on the TV or radio and you will be reminded how big and strong Texas really is. For example, the slogan “Don’t Mess With Texas”, or the ‘80’s drama, Dallas. Texas really is proud of their position in the good ‘ole USA.

Well, it occurred to me today while walking on Golden Gate, that Texas might have some shortcomings. For instance, they don’t have the highest or lowest points in America. They belong to Alaska and California respectively. They don’t have the biggest city, or the largest state. They don’t have the largest tree, or for that matter, the largest forest.  In my opinion, they don’t have the prettiest beaches, or the nicest sunsets….I’m pretty sure that California and Hawaii would have something to say about that. (unless oil rigs are your idea of pretty and nice).  Heck, even when it comes to agriculture, California has got to be on top of the charts. As Anne and I travel through the Golden State, I’m not sure what Texas is the biggest or best of. Oh, I got it! They have the most illegal immigrants. Wait, California may have you beat there too.  I guess we might not mess with Texas after all.

By the way, San Francisco was awesome as always. Terrific weather, wonderful food, and great scenery. It will always be a place to come back to.
