After being glad to get out of Amsterdam (5 days was plenty long enough), Brussels was originally planned just as a stop-gap before heading down into France. The low expectations we had obviously worked in our favour - it was great! Much better hostel(2go4), some great food, visiting one of the most beautiful towns - Brugges and a surprise visitor all combined to make Belgium one of our fondest memories.
