I took 2 days off of work from Los Cardones when a family friend came into town. I met up with him in Managua and he graciously took me out to visit his beautiful property overlooking Laguna Apoyo, a natural crater lake with a beautiful view of Volcano Mombacho.
We took 3 horseback rides through the towns of Diria, Catarina, and San Juan de Oriente. The little artisan communities are fantastic and the view from the Mirador is amazing.

Jim is trying to open his place up as a rental property and would be perfect for large events like weddings, family vacations, quincineras, etc. Check out the photos!
We spent the evenings play "Va a Pescar" or "Go Fish" with the family that caretakes the property. It was a blast and I didnt win a single game. Don Jimmy is a Go Fish pro though.
