Flew down to Bohol form Manila. The flight was at 7am so it was another early rise. At the airport we saw the funniest thing. Thedre were a Korean couple wearing t-shirt with "this is my Romeo -->"  "<---- This is my Juliet"  How corney eh. The funniest thing was that the guy was stood on the wrong side of his Juliet and at the other side of him where his Juliet arrow was, wait for it a nun! ha ha Edna and I couldnt stop laughing, We tried to take a picture but they nun caught on and moved ha ha!  The flight only took 80mins and when we arrived the airport was tiny. We just walked off the plane and out to the taxis. Took 20mins to get to the resort we were staying at "The Alhona Kew". We had a bungalow right next to the beach. Once again it is another gorgeous white sandy beach with turquoise blue waters- fabby ;o)

I ended up spending the day in bed as i took unwell. Not sure what caused it, maybe the pigs intestines i ate the other night! Luckily it was cloudy outside so i couldnt have sunbathed anyways. I felt a bit better by 7pm and managed to join Edna for dinner. I had a big plate of mashed tatties, just what i needed. Not had mashed tatties in ages.  There was a band playing in the restaurant who were excellent. 3 men and a lady singer. They sang acoustically which made it sound even better. They sang a right mix of songs from Elvis, Celine Dion, the Carpenters, John Denver to The Corrs, Abba and Boyzone!  There is even a Big Brother theme tune over here which they sang too. It's not a dance song like the Uks. Its more "Whigfield esq" There is a dance to go along, Its so funny but great to watch and listen to.  Even alot of the Philippino songs are sung in English- very impressive. Good end to a bad day in bed!

Cute Tarsiers!

day 2

Awoke feeling  abit better but still not 100%  Early rise to go on our day tour of Bohol. It was a great day. We saw so much. We had our own people carrier, driver and tour guide. We stopped at an old church. Its walls were made from coral and eggs! Bizarre eh! Amazing it's still standing from the 16th century! Next we went to a pottery plant, We saw the locals making clay pots on the wheel. There was no pedals on it to make it turn. The guys used there bare feet to make it go around! Pretty impressive stuff. Saw the ovens where they fired the pots in coconut kilns. A long lengthy process!  In the same plant we saw a lady weaving straw baskets, another slow process. We got to go into their butterfly gardens too and see all the colouful butterflies and all the cocoons too- cool ;o)

We then had lunch on the Lobok river on a floating raft. I had more local food which tasted great. I was a bit weary after ebing so sick yesterday but didnt want to pass up all the yummy buffet food. Our meal was served on banana leaves.  The Lobok river is so green and has lots of plam trres around it. Very picturesque. We had entertainment on the raft too. We couldnt believe it when we saw who it was, it was one of the male singers from last night(the best singer). He sang alot of the same tunes but we didnt mind as he was so good. His favourite songs seem to be "leaving on a jet plane" and "country road" ha ha!

Next port of call was the Tarsier park. Here we saw the smallest primates in the World. They are the weirdest looking creatures too. I think they are a cross between an owl and gremlin! They have the hugest eyes on the tiniest body and yet they are barely the size of your palm!  I got some cracking pictures of them, wait til you see them you will be in stiches laughing. We even go to feed them crickets too.

The Chocolate Hills were our last stop and the best stop! They are called so as they go chocolate coloured in the summer. There are over 1000 of them and we climed up the many steps to get an amazing view of them all. It was good day out ;o)

We had dinner back at the restaurant and were entertained again by the super singers and their guitars. The lady wasnt with them tonight just the 3 amigoes as i called them.If you check out the hotel website you will see the best singer, The guy with the guitar and the big cheesy grin.  They came and sang to us as we ate our dinner. I couldn't stop smiling at the cheesey guy singing. They were fab ;o)

At the airport on our way back to Manila there was another band playing with guitars. They were very good too. Once again we heard "Leaving on a Jet plane" and "Country Road" Edna and i were laughing again as it was the 4th time we'd heard it in such a shirt time ha ha

As we were taxing onto the runway all the staff stood at the side of the runway and waved to us, aww how nice ;o)

I really enjoyed my trip to Bohol and would definitely reccommend it.
