Finally making it to Manila, after an overnight stay in the Singapore airport, we decided to jump on the next flight to Cebu City.  We had insider information about the diving around the Visaya Islands, and this would get us in the midst.  Needing to collect ourselves and adjust to a new culture, we headed to Golden Valley Hotel (air-con, fridge, Satellite TV, and Hot Water!).  Set out the first night for dinner and found ourselves in the "red light district"; according to the locals.  Feeling comfortable with the people, streets full of jeepnees of all colors, and food being cooked on a stick every time you turned around; we decided to take a trip further downtown.  Making it to the major town mall (SM Mall) on the 01K jeepnee, we refilled our necessities and picked up treats.  All rejuvenated, it was time to get out of the city and head to the harbor where we caught the fast ferry to Bohol Island.  Back to the islands!!!
