Naviti. Now this is paradise.
From Round the World 2006 in Yasawa, Fiji on Jun 27 '06
Grant and I arrived at the island of Naviti on our second day in Fiji. This resort was so much nicer than the last, thank goodness. We stayed in a lodge, it was like our own little home. The water was the bluest, blue I'd ever seen and the beach was sandy white. Ah, this is paradise. We spent our first afternoon fishing. Grant caught several fish. They were very bright and colorful. I was happy to see beef was served for dinner and plenty of it. There's hope, Grant won't starve after all. The second day on Naviti wasn't a very good day. The weather was really nasty. The clouds were grey, winds high, and temperature cool. We didn't do much all day, watched Moses (resort employee) demonstrate how to milk coconuts. Following afternoon coffee we headed down and played volleyball. We are meeting a lot of very interesting people from all over the world. We went to the village the next morning. It was wonderful. We were greeted with a Kava ceremony, then purchased goods from the local woman and went to the kindergarten. The children of the village were incredible. They loved having their pictures taken and then looking at them. That afternoon we walked to what is called "honeymoon beach". It was another white sandy beach with crystal clear water, gorgeous and relaxing. Tide was out and we were able to walk out at least 200 meters with the water never getting above a foot deep. The pictures Grant took of me walking are awesome, it looks like I'm walking on water! Today we checked-out. Spent the day lying in the sun and relaxing. Were back in Nadi for the evening and will be headed to Sydney in the morning. We are safe and really enjoying ourselves and don't worry we're taking good care of one another. Miss you all!
I can't add pictures on this computer so I will post them when we get to Sydney.
