· We reluctantly left our spot overlooking the beach and headed into a little town nearby called Carrick-a-Rede. Here we treated ourselves to an Irish brekky (potato and soda bread included- very traditional) in a lovely guesthouse. From there we went to the famous rope bridge that we both saw on Getaway not too long ago. It is shorter in real life but the scenery is brilliant- well worth it. The Coastline has a habit of exceeding our expectations. We then headed for Tim’s Aunties place in Kilraghts near Ballymoney. Once again, we had fun trying to find the place but we ended up arriving right on time. Janette, John and their son James and ‘Granny’, were all so lovely. We chatted over a lovely lunch and had a tour of their dairy farm (not used to the smell of so many cows- we concealed the retching!). The running of it is like a well-oiled machine and with what limited space the Irish have, they sure know how to use it properly- good on them! Janette then took us around and showed us her beloved little chicks- all 16000 of them. So cute. Both of us had a little chuckle at how quick they scatter around and smack into each other. We did a further tour of Tim’s childhood areas and left there at about 6.30pm. Such a lovely family, I’m so pleased we met them. We then headed towards Bushmills- a longer trip that expected as Jules took us completely the wrong way! However we found a beaut and cheap little caravan park. Our first one in 2 weeks of free camping. It was really nice to have everything at our fingertips. Jules has her fingers crossed for a sleep in tomorrow- we’ll see!!!
