We visited Green River, UT, as our jumping off place to visit a dig-site somewhere in Eastern Utah.  We do not know whether it is still active, but the town serves the launch facility for the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.  Green River is also known for its melons, which are exceptionally sweet.
