Today we went to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. Ben thoroughly enjoyed himself. The museum itself was tucked away in the center of this very small town, surrounded by residential streets and little shops. Everything revolved around baseball there; restaurants, inns, souvenir stores. We went inside, and were excited to discover that we could use our new AAA cards for a small discount! We got to see some great exhibits, a wonderful film presentation and the Hall of Plaques was very well done. We got to see some amazing historic memorabilia, and learned about the women's league, as well. It was really surprising to see all the items that were there. For example, they had the Rockford Peaches uniform that Madonna wore in A League of Their Own. However, they also had a real Rockford Peaches uniform, which was in much better condition. Here are a few pictures. We got much more on video.

The most surprising thing about the area was the drive out of Cooperstown heading north. The most beautiful towns and lakeside homes, farm communities and sandy little beaches stretched out for a good 30 miles. Prettiest land in the country so far.
