London - 1st stop

London - our first port of call. 

We arrived pretty early after a long flight with a short stopover in Bangkok.  Thai Airways played good flight/bad flight with us as the first leg we almost had the whole plane to ourselves, nice fancy new-ish plane, billions of movies to choose from and plenty of hot towels... the second leg, not so good!  Old plane, packed to the rafters with people and NO movies!  But we survived!  Brocks first int'l flight was an experience in itself!

Once we landed, grabbed our bags and headed to the tube to get to Lils we were getting a little tired.. but we had to soldier on!  With our packs on, we crambed into the tiny London tube and tried to not knock people over!  Lil's was great... we had our own room and plenty of fantastic hospitality!  Thanks Lil and Miranda!

Lil's place was in Angel -  a great place to stay with fab access to the tube, buses and general getting about.  We spent the first day walking all over the place - 9kms!!  We saw plenty of sites and planned the remaining few days.

We got a little hooked on "America's Next Top Model" which was on Sky TV each day - quite an amusing show!

We queued and took a ride on the London Eye and saw Big Ben and the whole city from up high.  We walked past Downing Street, had a pub lunch and met some funny old well educated men who talked to us over lunch!  They had villas all over the place and plenty of stories to share.  Jac got a kiss on the hand when we left the pub!

We then had to pack in some more sites - Trafalga Sq, Leicester Sq and a wander down Oxford Street for some retail therapy! (Brock LOVED this bit the most!!!)

The next morning, after a little sleep in, we took the bus to Lords!  Splendid!  The bus took us through some, let's say, "interesting places"!  Lords was great - the slope in the oval should be fixed one day perhaps, nearly 2m from one side to the other!

Then, some night life!  We caught up with Hutchy and Nikki who are living just out of London.  They met us at Covent Garden - a very nice part of town, we were quite taken by the cobbled alley ways etc.  Great to see you guys, we'll catch up again soon!  They took us to an Irish pub, followed by all-you-can-eat Thai, then another pub!  Then, they headed off to see Jet and we headed off to another Pub!  We met Lil and some of her work folk.  Nice to meet you, Jim, Bartosh and Joel!!  I sampled some strawberry beer and then some more!

Next morning - Waterloo Station to catch the Eurostar to Paris!
