Man, this is a big country.  We clocked over 2000 miles in four days on the trip from Seattle to Minneapolis.  That basically means that we saw a whole lot of fields, grassland, cows, and interstate.  The big stop was at Yellowstone; we spent almost a full day looking at hot springs, boiling mud, and geysers.  The overall opinion of the park is that it is way overcrowded but pretty cool.  But we wouldn’t recommend a visit in summer – seems like fall would be way better.  Smaller stops were at Wall Drug for some free (gross) water and the Badlands.  Seriously, though, we just saw lots of interstate and farms.
