A day on the mini buses

A quiet night enjoying the ambience of the beach life.  I can totally understand how people get 'lost' in this easygoing life.  There are small sheltered cabanas with soft mats and pillows that you can lay upon all day and night.  Tasty restaurants, diving, bars, fire twirling, music.  There are parties somewhere every night.

I awoke took a quick photo of Elisabeth coping in her tent and then hit the sand for yoga and swim.  We bought tickets for the bus to Hat Yai.  While waiting I swam again and then dressed.  Well, the bus pick-up was so long I just dropped my pants and sat in the sun in my undies.  This gave the locals a laugh.  I was not self-conscious in the least.

The bus crossed on two ferries and we spent a total of about 6 hours heading south.  Eventually we reach Hat Yai which is a good sized town really close to the Malaysian border.  Our notion was to catch the 6am train for Butterworth.  This is the stopping off point for Penang Island.  Instead we have decided to stay here and do some final Thai shopping, laundry and catching up here on my picture uploads as I found a cheap card reader here.  Also bought a gold chain and some Ray Bans.  Of course nothing is real at these prices but they are fun.

Another interesting eating experience.  This was one of those rice and choose from many big vats of parts of animals with vegetables.  Mostly Pork, fish and Chicken but some of them I have no idea.

I think the day will require a foot massage.
