We got minibus and boat combi ticket and arrived about 10am. The boat over was playing 'mellow magic' and at one point they played the themetune to titanic film, not sure if they were not aware or taking the piss! The accommodation is quite pricey here and the cheapest we found was 400 B which was a bargain compared to the others and it had attached bathroom which was good.

The following day we went to Long Beach. It was quite a trek, but we were saving money by walking. It was quite good fun and we felt like we were back in Chiang Mai! It is a stunning beach but there isn't much to do there, especially in the evenings so we decided not to stay there after all. We ate lunch on a restaurant on the beach and the guy serving me was really rude when I told him he had brought me the wrong dish and when I told the manager he laughed it off, they really don't give a damn! We hired a snorkel set which we were glad about because the water is so clear here and there is so much to see. On the way back we walked back along the beach (past the rocks), the tide goes out really far here so you are able to walk back around the rocks where the sea once was, which was a bit odd.

Phi Phi- beautiful beaches, stunning sand and free thai boxing!

We booked a snorkelling trip and started off at 11am. We had our first stop just off long beach (shark point) but thankfully there weren't any sharks! We then headed off to bamboo island which was beautiful- a proper postcard beach, shame about all the long tail boats lining the front. We had lunch there and then we went to Monkey Beach, the sand was stunning and felt like silk. We then headed to Maya Bay, our guide stopped on the other side of the bay so we could walk through the cave, this was apparently to avoid being charged because all the other boats that pull up onto the beach have to pay to use it. It was really good and walking through the cave and then through the trees to the beach made me feel like I was actually in the film, 'the beach' just like Leonardo Dicaprio walking onto the beach through the trees. It was more amazing like I imagined. The boat ended up coming round to the front of the beach anyway and the chinese people in our group got really annoyed and they said 'we are gonna kill him'  we were in hysterics. What also made us laugh was when they all put lifejackets on to go snorkelling and one of them was hyperventilating because she was afraid of the water! Think she must have booked the wrong trip! The beach itself was amazing but it wasn't so good for snorkelling.

The following day we met up with a couple we met on the snorkelling trip, Pete and Emma and went to see thai boxing in the Hippie Bar, which was really funny! They had thai boxers and then people could also fight each other, so a few drunk people got up which was really funny to watch! The thai boxers fighting was the best that we had seen so far so took some pictures but they didn't come out very well. We went for drinks on the beach and there was a cat chasing a rat! It was pinging it around and kept nearly hitting us, we were terrified!
