On Wednesday (27th Dec 06) i went to the fourth test of the ashes, day 2, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

I managed to get a ticket from Mikey, in a swap deal for that free ipod shuffle i got whilst in China!! It's like Mark said to me, these things come into your hands for a reason, and i ended up getting an ashes ticket as a result.......which was one of the major things i wanted to do whilst in Auz.

Shane Warne's final ashes series
The MCG, or 'The G' as the Ozzies call it is an amazing stadium...so impressive!

It was a poor day from an England point of view, and as an England fan there wasn't much for me to cheer about.

However, i still saw some great cricket.

The main highlights were Andrew Symonds's 158, his highest ever previous test score was around 69 prior to this innings. I also saw some top batting by Matthew Hayden who scored 151............but i was more entertained by SIMMO, or ROY as he is called over here (I don't have a clue why but there you go!)

He is a quality batsman in terms of entertainment value as he just smashes the ball, although to be fair he played a pretty patient innings!

Huge crowds! (what a boring comment on that photo! LOL!...hey ho!)

Right, that's enough of the ins and outs of Simmo, as all this cricket talk is enough to enduce a coma for most of you reading this i imagine.....

One cool thing about this match is that i got to see Shane Warne bat for the last time ever in a test match a the MCG.........so that was pretty cool to see history in the making.

Had a top day out.........can now say i went to Shane Warne's final ashes series and one of his last ever matches for Australia!

Hope you enjoy the pics.........some of them are a bit distant, as the MCG is massive.......a quality stadium!! It's really impressive, especially on the inside.
