We took a flight from Arequipa to Lima. We had heard that Lima was not really a city worth spending much time in. After our short visit we would definitely disagree with that.

We stayed in the Loki hostel (same owners as hostel in Cusco) in the Miraflores area. Bit of a change from what we had been used to as we were opposite a McDonalds, next to a Burger King and Pizza Hut and around the corner from a KFC and Dunkin Donuts (you get the idea!)

We walked around the Barranco district, the artists quarter of Lima, along the sea front. First time we had seen the sea in quite a while. Not the cleanest of water but it didnt seem to put the surfers off! The sea was full of them. The area is made up of lots of narrow cobble streets, lots of nice buildings and really well kept parks and flower beds. The locals seemed really friendly too. Checked out the oldest bar in Lima. Then walked back along the front and enjoying the sunset on the way. Very pleasant.

Out for food in Mirraflores. Went to "pizza street" a pedestrian walkway crammed with bars and restaurants with lots of touts trying to get you in by offering free drinks. Very Gringo orientated but still not bad food and pretty cheap.

That was our time up in Lima unfortuantely.
