After a few days in Renaca we headed off to Santiago on Christmas to celebrate Christmas in Santiago. Roberto took us along a diferent route and we drove through the countryside for a change. On the way we stopped at a honey stall on the side of the road and then a cheese farm. After several purchases we were back on the road stopping at a cafe about 45 minutes out from santiago. Huge empanada's were the fare here and we all ate ourselves silly. We arirved in Pajarito ( where we had caught  the train earlier in the week) where Nano was waiting for us to drive us into the city. Nano has been absolutely amazing and we have a trouble free trip to his place thanks to him. Anita was unable to be with us for Christmas as her mother was ill and she had to visit her.

We arrived at nano's house at about 6pm, prepared the christmas dinner - the celebrate it on Christmas eve here ) and then got all dressed up. Dinner was at 9pm. We had dinner and then finally, for the kids, opened our presents. Christmas was supposed to be simple but as you will see from the photo's we did rather well. After presents we had dessert and then contemplated mass but everyone was so tired we gave it a miss. I was staying at an apartment about 10m minutes away from Nano's so he took me there at about 1am and I hit the deck, tired and happy.

Our Christmas Eve "day!
