I rowed my boat all the way to Venice

Venice is a really gorgeous place. Lots of water. Not surprisingly. And, we had the most beautiful sunny day. It was awesome. Our tour manager pretty much told us to go get lost in the city and that's what we actually did...and lost a few people from our group too. But, it was a city filled with bridges, canals, old buildings, gondolas, a water highway on the water - with traffic laws, and of course the gorgeous St. Mark's Square. I had a chance to get a view from the Bell Tower...which gave the city a more well-rounded look - as you could see just how scrambled the streets and water ways really are. We took a gondola ride in the afternoon through the canals which was cool to do as well. And, checked out an Italian lace school, as well as all the glass. There were glass stores everywhere in the city selling jewellry, pictures, vases...pretty much anything you could make with glass. I will not deny that I may have bought a few items! Which should be interesting to send home!
Going on a gondola ride!
