We went straight to a hostel near King's Cross when we arrived in Sydney, on a recommendation from Jiri, a Dutch guy who we'd later move in with. We'd just been wakeboarding with him, and he'd stayed with us at Dee's house, so it made sense.

We moved out of the hostel pretty quickly, it wasn't bad, we met some nice people, but there was an Italian guy in our dorm that snored loudly, shouted in his sleep, smoked when he shouldn't have, and had the TV on all night. When I asked him not to smoke, he made a point of slamming the door every time he went out for a fag, generally speaking, he was an arsehole! Had some good nights down near the hostel though and watched the Champions League final in there with a few Italians, which was a decent night.

Sunday Sounds just across the northern side of the Harbour Bridge reminded me of Space, Ibiza a little bit. The club opens at about 11 in the day time, for all those refusing to belive the weekend is over. We had a really good night here, half price tickets, happy hour for about 3 hours, spot on. Nice venue.

Got free tickets for the Sydney Swans v Collingwood Magpies AFL game (Aussie Rules) a few nights ago. Got a tour of the showground at the Telstra complex, including lessons on how to handball and drop-punt and a lowdown of the rules. We also got a goodie pack with, amongst other stuff, an AFL ball, and a free meal. I kicked a couple of belting goals on the training ground. Nathan had a go and split his new trousers! and missed, loser. It was bloody freezing, he had to watch the whole game (3 hours including all the breaks) with a foot long rip in his crotch area! Luckily his coat was long enough. The Swans, as with Manly the night before, got thumped 57 - 76 by a much better Collingwood team. It was all over by the third quarter. The Swans only came back into the game when Collingwood took their foot off the gas in the fouth. We're destined never to see our team win, just like back home! Better attendance here than at Brookvale Oval though, almost full, 64222. Awesome stadium!

So.., to Watson's Bay for 07:30 in the morning for our Yellowfin and Albacore fishing expedition 20 miles out to sea.

Wooaah were we sick, god dam, I haven't felt that rough since the taxi ride home on my 17th birthday, then I couldn't even lift my head up! At least this time round I did manage to keep the vomit in and not chuck all over Streety! Orlando wasn't so strong stoumached, he was talking Welsh to the sea on least 5 occasions, maybe more. It all went downhill after we left the calmer waters of the bay, where we saw some Southern Humpback Whales surfacing for air just in front of the boat. It was just after we'd passed the 12 mile mark that the sea turned on us! We were up and down, side to side, it felt like we could've tipped over on some of the waves, I know we wouldn't have but it felt like it. I don't think I'm exaggerating either, the guys that took us out said it was well rough, and that they still got sick sometimes. Maybe they were just saying that so we didn't feel like pussies.

There was one major highlight from the trip though, just before we all fell into comas we hooked a Yellowfin Tuna. Actually we were all already layed down when we heard the ratchets on the rods whirring away. Nathan was first to come to and so got to be the first one to have a go. Luckily for him, we never got another bite all bloody day. He managed to pull in a 12-14kg Yellowfin Tuna, which Orlando filleted back at the bay and we all ate later that night, and are still eating 2 days on! Check the pictures. Good day out apart from spending 3 hours on the deck not knowing which way was up. I did enjoy the experience, and the memories will be good ones even if for the wrong reasons, and, If I ever go again (I will), I'll be definitely keeping a keen eye on the weather forecast! We've all exhausted our tuna recipes already, including the two chefs we live with, and we're only half way down it! Not a bit of it is going to waste though!
