As we said yesterday we returned to the motel for a good nights rest. In fact we rested so well we did not get started until 10:30 this morning. All got plenty of rest. Sue and Ann went down to the car first to get it ready for the day’s travels. Tried to replace the fuse with the ones we bought yesterday, but we needed the mini fuses. After we got Matt and Christie motivating we loaded the car to begin our journey. As we were backing out of the parking area a fellow resident stopped us to ask us if we meant to have an ornament on top of the van. Matt’s pillow – Sue says she does not want to hear anything else about leaving her pillow. We stopped at Wal Mart to get the right fuse. While Ann went in to get the fuse the rest of us were going to the Handi-Mart to get ice. Pulled away from the door and decided we were being stupid, so we drove to the other door so Matt could get the ice at Wal Mart. Christie and Sue circled the lot until they came out. Changed the fuse and finally we have a working radio again. We got about 25 miles down the road when we decided to stop for breakfast. This was our first foray into a Cracker Barrel this trip. All liked the food, except Matt who did not feel like he had a big enough serving. Finally at about 12:30 we began our journey to Little Rock. Right off the bat we had concerns about making it in time to visit the Clinton library. Garmin forecast our arrival for 4:41 and the library closed at 5:00. We decided to pass the time playing games, Matt, Ann and Christie had a marathon Scrabble tournament. Matt claims it was no contest; he won 3 out of 3. Continued on and Sue and Ann played Matt and Christie in trivia. Sue and Ann lost that one too. Plans are for a rematch in Frustration tonight at the hotel. A game Matt has lost at least once on this trip. We made the effort and got to the Clinton Library by 4:45. Not enough time to really explore. Oh heck and the admission was waived for July 4th. We made the decision to spend the night in Little Rock and visit early tomorrow morning. Checked Garmin and found a Wyndham Riverfront Hotel right near where the fire works were supposed to be and the rate was very reasonable. Checked into the hotel and found out we could watch from the room. We decided to eat at the hotel restaurant (Benihana’s). The food at this Japanese restaurant was much better than the one in California. After dinner we returned to the room and just hung around until time for the fireworks. We went out to the parking lot and set up on the curb, but the hotel was obviously charging non-residents to use the parking spaces, so our view was soon blocked. We then moved to the grassy knoll down by the street. We figured how to change our camera to fireworks mode and got some great pictures. The fireworks were accompanied by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Not only a feast for the eyes but the ears as well. We returned to the room and as we got ready to play Frustration Christie proceeded to jump on Matt and beat up on him. His comment – “like a little gnat”. We began the Frustration challenge.
