One will surely enjoy heavenly pleasure, if he stays at Mukutmanipur in a moonlit night. Staying arrangement is there at the top of the hillocks at Mukutmanipur. After crossing the lock gate of the Kangsabati dam on the river Kang-sabati, there is the inspection bungalow, the Kangsabati Bhaban and the Youth Hostel. The barrage on the rivers Kumari and Kangsabati is 10098 m in length and 38 m in height, the area of the dam is 86 sq km.

The dam is surrounded by hills. Just walk down another 6 km on the Dam Top Road, there are temples on the top of the Pareshnath hills. The temple of Shiva for Hindus and temple of Pareshnath for Jains. The statue of Pareshnath is made of chlorite stone. Just cross the dam by a boat and you will reach the beautiful Banpukuria Deer Park. It takes hardly a couple of hours to cross the river and visit the deer park. Boating charge Rs 20.

The second biggest earth dam of India is located in Mukutmonipur

From the Tourist Lodge you just cross Gorabari and then you will reach Ambikana-gar-the old centre of Jain culture. There is old dilapidated palace of King Raicharan Dhabal Dev who was a great patriot. He helped set up an underground arms manufacturing factory and a school for training at Chhendapathar, 19 km away from Jhilimili, and the King used to supply arms regularly to the freedom fighters like Kshudiram Bose, Prafulla Chaki etc.
