Day 15 In Villafria, outside Burgos

I woke up in my hotel room today, thankful for the clean sheets and the hot bath I had last night, And I wondered why I had really stopped here. It was easy to say I was tired after the walk yesterday, but I could have taken the bus from Villafria to the Pilgrim Albergue in Burgos. It´s real close.
No, I wanted this, needed it even. There´s a line from an old Joni Mitchell song that says, "I miss my clean white linens and my fancy French cologne..." That was it then. The albergues were too much with me at that moment of decision yesterday. I had walked all day yesterday, fully intending to stop at Villafria, but I hadn´t known it was an industrial truck stop hotel surrounded by warehouses, and a couple similar hotels. Or maybe I did... my guidebook indicated that after crossing the railroad track overpass, one would enter the village of Villafria, and then continue on to the "garish sign for the Hotel Buenos Aires." Maybe I thought, garish sign, yep, that´s for me. I dunno, maybe I knew.
Sleep in ....
But today when I woke up to rain, I was happy not to be in an albergue with 80 other pilgrims, listening to some get up at 5:30. Maybe I´m a "wuss" pilgrim, but as I continued to sleep in, nigh unto 8:15(!), I was a very content wuss pilgrim.
