Pit stop needed

Being on the road is fun, but after 3 weeks we needed a break (and some clean laundry). We stopped in Livermore, California, to visit Brian's relatives, Ed and Donna Smith. Donna was a first cousin of Shirley (Brian's mom) - they were very close growing up and Donna said Shirley always treated her like a younger sister.
Ed, Donna, and their son Barney live right smack in the middle of a wine growing region, plus they have a little guesthouse for us to stay in behind their house. I didn't ever want to leave! They have a 5 acre yard and grow something like 15 different types of bamboo, grapes, roses, oleander, pears, and flowers galore. And even cooler? Ed has a 30x60 foot shed which holds a 25x44 foot model train set with 6 tracks. It's the biggest model train I've ever seen.

They fed us amazing BBQ ribs and steak, took us wine tasting, and showed great hospitality.
