The faluka ride to Luxor was a riot. Besides the intestinal disfortitude I suffered everything went really well. We never sank, we had fires on the shores of the full moon lit Nile, the captain and his assistant cooked great food for us, we sang, danced, played music, drank and smoked to our hearts content. Then we got off the boat at some temple, just like so many, called Edfu. And then ran off to Kom Ombo. These two temples are nice but begin to fun into the mass of stone and heiroglyphics that made up the bulk of memories from this tour.

Upon arriving in Luxor we added even more. But they were of a more unique nature. In Luxor seems to be the majority of primary tourist attractions. Here we toured the east and west bank of the nile which contain the valley of the kings, valley of the queens, the colossus of memnon, Hatsepthuts temple, Karnak temple, and Luxor temple.

In the valley of the kings we saw three tombs. None of which were allowed pictures. Same as in the valley of the queens. I am tired of typing now so I wont go into detail. Lets just say really deep carved holes in the ground with lots of heiroglyphics and a single sarcophogus in each. Sorry, I know I could do better.

Same goes for the rest of the temples. Nothing I can say really makes the experience. You just have to see them. Be overwhelmed when you stop looking at them like a tourist and feel them as an anthropologist or archeologist, or maybe as a medium who can sense the greatness and millions of lives these creations have influenced. Truly overwhelming at times.

I am off now. I am in Dahab and I am going scuba diving in the red sea. So I have to go get ready. Bye.
