We arrived early in Arles to begin our tour. Again, this is another medieval town with great Roman influence. They have a coliseum…just smaller than in Rome. They also have an amphitheater.
It was in Arles that Van Gogh spent some time painting. We visited the hospital where he stayed while recovering from this ear being cut off. We sat in an internet café right next door to the famous café which he painted. Needless to say, the internet connection was very poor and we weren’t able to send emails…only receive.
Tonight on board ship time was spent reminiscing about the past 6 days and promising to stay in touch.
