Days 0 to about 7
From Will's South American Aventura in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Feb 01 '07
Ola.
It's day 6 of my adventure, and it's started out in a very civilised manner, staying in the centre of Sao Paulo and being able to walk to everything fairly easily. It's 30 degrees every day, the beer is cold and fairly cheap, and I only have one blister on one foot so far. I'm sunburned-turning-to-tan and starting not to look quite so obviously a tourist, and I've already met some Brazilians and been out for a few drinks, though no caiparanha's yet.... Been to a snake farm, many parks, museums, and been chased (well, possibly followed) through the streets before losing them. Nothing has been nicked yet, including passport and all my internal organs. Have not met any fellow travellers yet, just missed a couple of English girls in this internet cafe who had disappeared when I next looked round (they must have spotted ME), think that SP is not a big tourist spot. Next stop idyllic beaches on the way to Rio for the Carnaval. Am even learning Portugese a little, though outside Brazil it will be useless, so has a 3 week shelf life.
I miss all the even more civilised things of England, like washing machines and films, but most of all my friends. At least, of course, til I make new, nubile Brazilian female ones.....
Updates will be every 2 weeks or so unless you email to a) stop me or b) want to know anything else. Tchau mi amigo!
