Cradle Mountain

We headed straight for Cradle Mountain. We camped for 3 nights and did lots of bush walks. The campground had lots of wallabies and possums roaming about at dusk. A large tough looking possum with only one eye managed to get in the trailer. Much to my surprise, PL promptly showed it out … The scenery was fantastic here – we walked to Dove Lake and Wombat pool with Cradle Mountain in the foreground. A and I went further and returned on an unmarked track with a scramble down the hillside. A thought this was very exciting and we stumbled upon a wombat in the bushes. We also explored the area around the campsite (King Billy, Enchanted Forest). The girls had fun at a nearby military style endurance training centre with ropes and ladders, etc...
A has committed to doing the Overland Track (Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair 5 day bushwalk) with me when she turns sixteen.
