This is the site of 5000 year old neolithic burial mounds. The surrounding area is of beautiful green hills and the prominent Boyne River flowed nearby. The mound was very intersting espeically inside. I've never been inside naything that old and its amazing that its held up this long. The inner chamber was very small and it was quite packed due to the large crowd on the tour. There was some neolithic artwork on the walls and then in each of four little chambers were the place where they buried whomever was laid to rest there. Very intersting but it would have been better had there been fewer people, quite a claustrophobic experience. We then got back on the road and headed further north. Right at the border of the Republic and Northern Ireland we stopped and had some lunch and waited for or guide who would guide us across the border.
