After arriving in Madrid around 2p.m. on Tuesday, we began our second semester field trip by taking a two hour bus tour of the city with our tour guide, Matti. We stopped at the Las Ventas bull ring to take a quick picture. As it was not the season of bull-fighting we were not able to attend a match. Matti pointed out all the great shopping in the city and gave us advice on which clubs to attend. The one another stop we made while on our bus tour was the Botanical Gardens inside the old train station. That afternoon before dinner, Ellen-Anne and I took a cat nap. For dinner our entire group walked to a local restaurant for authentic paella. While I admit that it was pretty good, I absolutely did not like the seafood heads adorning my plate. I just couldn’t deal with it. That evening we called it an early night to prepare for the week.
