Colourful, but wet.

A bit of a last minute decision to stop in Paraty, but glad we did.
Paraty is a colourful colonial town full of art shops and expensive restaurants. We thought it a little OTT on this front, but is very pretty with many pastel shaded doorways and window frames on brilliant white buildings.
Unfortunately it rained while we were there, so we just quickly took in the sights before heading for shelter in a bar.
Went out for food - had been warned in the handbook that restaurants charge for live music. We therefore (being tight) tried to avoid a live band as they were pretty dreadful anyway. Towards the end of the meal some chap launched into song and we ended up being charged after all. Don't fight it....

We stayed in a little Pousada after the HI Hostel managed to mess up our reservation. Quaint little place run by an old couple with many pets. Awoke to her pet budgie chirping/announcing breakfast was ready. Great breakfast and off to the bus station for our journey to Ilha Grande.
Supposed to be amazing views all along the road - unfortunately couldn't see them for the rain!
