Our two major hikes in Jasper was to Wilcox Pass/Tangle Creek and up to the foot of Mount Robson. Wilcox Pass is a walk for 8 km at an elevation gain of 335 meters. The walk is enjoyable, frist trough a 400 year old forest, then past the Columbian Icefield and up to Wilcox Pass at 2375 height.

Mount Robson at 3954 meters is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, and the whole roundtrip up to the foot of Mt.Robson and back is 42 kilometres. We walked this round trip as a daytrip, which gave us an easy walk without all the gear for camping in a tent, considering the 786 meters of elevation gain. The trail up to Berg Lake at the foot of Mt.Robson is supposed to be the most heavily traveled in the Canadian Rockies, but luckily at this time of the year that was not at all noticable.

We also did several smaller hikes in this area, and our impression was that the farther north from Banff towards Jasper, the greater the mountains and the hiking routes become.
