Corfu - The Pink Palace of Smut

So the pink palace has been hailed as the summer camp for twentysomethings, SO true. Add to camp alcohol in excess, nudity and awful awful sleazy american dudes and that is the pink palace. We had to take an overnight bus from athens to get there, and they kept waking us up to get on to ferries and rest stops, NOT the best night ever. We arrived at about 7am, where they greeted us with shots of Ouzo..... not a good sign.

The beach was ok, but crowded, but Corfu is just gorgeous. So lush and green with mountains and great landscape. I met 3 guys from U of C, one who I recognized from the Dining Center in rez, they are friends with Joel and Bryan and those boys so it is a VERY small world. Dinner is included which is just a big drinking fest, first night we managed to avoid most of the debauchery and had a good sleep to recover from the bus.

Saturday we went into town but everything was closed, so we didnt really get to see the town at all. That night was Toga Night, so everyone gets a pink toga (everything there is pink) and gets hammered. The fun part was there was a traditional greek dancing show, and they lit ouzo on fire in a huge ring around the stage thing. Then it went all downhill and 2 of the dudes working there grabbed these girls to "dance" but it was basically like them pretending to have sex in front of all these people, SO disgusting. We left to go have wine in the room then came back later when that was over to dance. Overall pretty fun, but not totally my scene.
