We left the UK via the usual route... That being Heathrow in turmoil. A departure line being so long that you neither knew where it begun or where it ended, after ten minutes of searching we found the end somewhere out in the Arrivals hall (no kidding). An hour or so later we are finally lead through security and into the duty free shops where we all know that the holiday truly begins.

Once settled on the departure side we stopped for our last Heathrow airport bevy and to relax for a second before embarking on a 14 hour journey to Bangkok.(Remember that man who walks through door sideways is sure going to .... well you know the rest). Little to say there was no walking through doors sideways.... Anyway, back to the departure story.

Before entering the plane I had been announcing to a number of friends that I was very much looking forward to the personal in-flight entertainment screen that is found on most long haul flights these days.... You can not imagine my bitter disappointment when I discovered that this flight would be flown with NO "Personal in-flight entertainment", but rather the old school pull down screens and two VERY non-entertaining movies one of them being "The Ant Bully". Of course I was overly happy for the 5.4% of passengers under the age of 14 who where thoroughly entertained.....:) Well always trying to make the best of my situations I decided the best thing for me to do was order a scotch and dry and try to sleep through the rest of the flight, hopefully waking up refreshed upon our arrival...
