We've had a few weekend trips to Austin, one of which involved evacuating Houston because of Hurricane Rita. Sure, the 17 hour drive sucked, but once we got there, it was fun. Austin's a great city- very relaxed, great art scene, and much more beautiful than Houston. We're considering moving there when we return from the Middle East.
Some of our favorites include the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Ararat Middle Eastern Restaurant, and watching the bats under the Congress Street Bridge.
