When we left this morning it was windy and drizzly. The wind was even worse then yesterday. The only upside was the beautiful rainbow in the sky. When we stopped in a gas station bathroom that was really nice we contemplated moving in to avoid the wind, but alas we carried on. Took us ages to reach the first town, which was 11k away. My eye is hurting and cloudy from the wind, it really sucks. We stopped in town a while and as we were leaving the Aussies came up behind us, they´d been eating in a bar. We walked with them a while, till Cook had to stop to poo. She went in a grove of Christmas trees and I am traumatized by the thought, Christmas will never again be the same! The path went through a forest, it was difficult to tell how far you´d gone because it all looked the same, but the trees blocked the wind. Road was muddy, but ok. We were meant to stay in San Juan de Ortega but the priest had recently died and they had found nobody to replace him and run the albergue. So we had to go three extra Ks to Ages, through cow pasture. Ages is a very tiny town, but the albergue was brand new and wonderful. How showers, great heat, good beds and cute. No market or anything so we bought dinner from the owners. Too salty for us but OK.

Whoosh
