After 26 very long hours on the train and an hour and half bus ride we made it to Yangshuo a small town by China's standards of 300,000 people.  This is truly a little piece of paradise for us.  The streets are clean (well cleaner) our rooms have mattresses and are air conditioned.  There is western food everywhere and of course some great shopping!!

This area is in the south of China and is extremely picturesque.  We are surrounded by limestone peaks that seem to randomly just jut straight out of the earth - it is absolutely gorgeous.  The Li river runs through this small town and is very clear unlike the Huangpu river that runs through Shanghai.  I have to say that this is the picture  I had in  my head of China and I am finally glad to see it.

We are off by bike to our next destination tomorow and then on into the countryside for another bike and hiking trip.  We are looking forward to seeing the scenery after the hustle and buslte and pollution of the cities.
